April Update: A Studio, A Stage, and A Job Post

The Campfire is building its North Van studio, expanding citywide pop-ups, and hiring professional GMs for one-shots and campaigns.

April Update: A Studio, A Stage, and A Job Post

Spring’s here, and with it comes momentum. At The Campfire, we’ve been quietly laying the groundwork for something big — and now we’re ready to share a few exciting updates. From a new studio on the horizon to a major moment at Canada’s biggest board game convention, April marks the start of the next chapter.

The Flagship Studio Is in Motion

We’ve officially begun work on The Campfire’s flagship studio, starting in North Vancouver.

While our long-term goal is still to land downtown, this early phase gives us the chance to build, test, and refine — everything from terrain layouts to filming setups. It’s an opportunity to move fast, stay scrappy, and iterate in a lower-stakes environment before launching our permanent home.

It’s not open just yet, but over the next few months you’ll start to see the space — and the stories within it — come to life.

Pop-Ups Across the City

While the studio takes shape, Campfire stories are already lighting up the rest of Vancouver. We’re running pop-up games in homes, shops, and temporary venues — transforming everyday spaces into one-night-only adventures.

You can now book one-shots led by our professional GMs or join a multi-session campaign in a pop-up location near you on our site. Whether you're in our future studio or a living room dungeon crawl in Kits, the experience stays premium: immersive props, dynamic sound, reactive lighting, beautiful terrain, and unforgettable storytelling.

A Huge Moment at TCTC

Last month, we sponsored Terminal City Tabletop Convention — the year it officially became Canada’s largest board game event.

We:

  • Sponsored the con
  • Ran four packed sessions across multiple GMs
  • Took to the mainstage to talk about combat design and what makes The Campfire different

It was an incredible moment to connect with the local community, and we’ll be releasing the full talk recording soon.

Doubling Down on Professional GMs

As we’ve grown, one thing’s become clear: what people want most is a premium, guided experience.

We originally planned to offer the Adventurer Membership — a way for people to bring their own group and run their own games in Campfire spaces. But the demand has overwhelmingly been for sessions run by professional Game Masters.

So we’re shifting focus. The Adventurer tier is on pause, and we’re putting everything into building the strongest lineup of GMs in the city.

We’re Hiring GMs Right Now

If you’re a skilled GM in Vancouver, we want to hear from you.

We’re hiring Game Masters to run bookable one-shots, lead bi-weekly campaigns, and represent The Campfire at both pop-ups and (soon) in the flagship studio.

You’ll be supported with:

  • Fully written one-shots
  • Campaign structure set in our shared world of Eorthwynn
  • All the terrain, props, lighting, and sound you need
  • Paid prep time and a professional platform to share your voice

The Campfire is becoming Vancouver’s premium D&D network — anchored by a studio in North Vancouver, spread through pop-ups across the city, and powered by a growing crew of incredible GMs.

Thanks for being part of it.

See you around the table.
