TEAM

The Campfire is the ultimate Dungeons & Dragons table that you can join. Experience Vancouver’s custom-built space crafted for total immersion — or dive into pop-up games run throughout the city.

Whether you're elevating your home game or joining a professionally led campaign, Campfire is where world-class stories unfold.

We're building the largest, most immersive D&D network in the world — powered entirely by paid, professional GMs.

And we’re looking for more incredible folks to join the party.

Game Master

As a Game Master at The Campfire, you’ll be the heart of the experience. You’ll run up to 2–4 in-person sessions a month, in our flagship Campfire room, at your own space, or a third-party venue in Vancouver. You’ll lead:

  • Pre-written one-shots provided by The Campfire
  • Custom campaigns set in our shared world of Eorthwynn, written by you

Campfire supplies everything: the terrain, miniatures, props, lighting, sound, and any support you need to bring the story to life. You’ll also:

  • Handle basic setup and teardown (lights, props, music, etc.)
  • Guide players through pre-session forms and make them feel seen
  • Embrace a mix of rules and roleplay, knowing when to say “yes” and when to roll with the chaos

What We’re Looking For

We’re after pros — experienced GMs who know how to run a table and a room. Ideally, you:

  • Have 5+ years of relevant experience (GMing, storytelling, game design, teaching, theatre, improv, etc.).
  • Already charge for GMing or run paid sessions.
  • Are based in Greater Vancouver.
  • Have a passion for immersive, theatrical storytelling grounded in solid mechanics.
  • Know how to make players — from total newbies to seasoned adventurers — feel welcome and heard.
  • Are able to collaborate creatively within a shared world and contribute to a unified storytelling experience
  • Bring strong organization and communication skills — you know how to keep a game tight and a group aligned
  • Have a player-first mindset — you’re here to guide the story, not control it
  • Are comfortable with basic lighting, sound, or AV controls — or willing to learn

Compensation

We pay per session. One-shots are paid a flat rate for 4 hours of in-person play, whereas campaigns are paid for 4 hours of play plus 2 hours of prep time per session. Specific rates will be discussed during the interview process, based on experience.

How to Apply

Email jed@thecampfire.ca with a short intro and some work you’re proud of, whether that be an adventure or a recording. Help us learn what kind of GM you are, how your experience has shaped that, and some signals (recordings, documents, etc.) that help paint that picture further.

We appreciate any interest in this! If we decide to take it further, we will reach out to schedule a call, and possibly organize a session with you as well.

Social media manager

As a Social Media Manager at The Campfire, you’ll be the voice of the experience online. You’ll help keep our community warm, active, and growing by sharing stories from the table and handling light daily outreach.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Posting 3–5 times per week across our social channels using existing filmed content
  • Editing long-form footage into short clips for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts
  • Writing simple, on-brand captions in The Campfire voice
  • Checking DMs and outreach daily (quick pass, ~10–15 minutes)
  • Flagging interesting messages, comments, or opportunities to the team
  • Helping keep our social presence consistent and friendly

What We’re Looking For

We’re after someone practical and dependable — someone who enjoys content and community. Ideally, you:

  • Have experience with short-form video editing for social platforms
  • Are comfortable reformatting content for different platforms
  • Can write casual, warm captions in a consistent voice
  • Are organized and responsive with light daily check-ins
  • Have an interest in tabletop games, storytelling, or creative communities (big plus)
  • Can work independently with light direction

This is a great fit for a student, freelancer, or creator looking for a small, steady side role.

Compensation

Compensation includes:

  • One free seat in a Campfire campaign (worth ~$100/month)
  • Plus a monthly flat amount, to be discussed based on availability and experience

How to Apply

Email jed@thecampfire.ca with:

  • A short intro about you
  • Any social accounts or content you’ve worked on (personal or professional)
  • A quick note on your availability each week

We appreciate any interest in this! If we decide to take it further, we will reach out to schedule a short call.
